The Shining (1980)

The Shining, a 1980 psychological horror film co-written by novelist Diane Johnson, was produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel of the same name, the film stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers, and Danny Lloyd.

A family travels to a small hotel for the winter, where the father is influenced to take violent action by a devious existence.

Simultaneously, his psychic son sees terrifying future visions from both the past and the future.

The Ring (2002)

It was directed by Gore Verbinski and starred Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox, and Daveigh Chase.

It is a remake of Hideo Nakata’s Japanese horror film Ring, released in 1998.

Insidious (2010)

The plot revolves around a couple whose son mysteriously falls into a coma and becomes a vessel for various malevolent entities in an astral plane.

On September 14, 2010, it had its world premiere at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and was released wide in theatres by FilmDistrict on April 1, 2011.
